I Can Learn This Language

James Rabbit has been practicing three times a week for the last week. We have a repetoire! We now have the ability to play live! If you have any shows coming up that you need banded, give us a line at my email.

I am now a guitar player! The trick is to immerse yourself in guitar language!

George Harrison - "Awaiting on the Wall"

I heard Amory listening to George Harrison's "Awaiting on the Wall" last night and it was a huge knock on the head and I had to run and get it right away. All of the instruments are smashed together running down the stairs of the biggest church ever and at the end of every phrase there's this big pause where all the instruments stop and you can hear the slide guitar swooping down for a non-landing amid the reverb shrapnel.

In that space I picture the final scene of a movie in which a futuristic cowboy, who has previously been tied up and left for dead in a vortex, emerges just as the villain is about to throw the switch to destroy planet Earth. The view is from right behind the futuristic cowboy's silver head - it is a shot of the villain's face contorted into a shocked wreck. This face reads: 'if he can escape the vortex, I am doomed'. The hero needn't even draw his lazer pistol, we already know the result and the movie is over. At the end of every phrase.

2008

I will be writing more frequently about the music I am listening to. I am conducting an experiment on music as therapy.

Thor is moving in tomorrow, James Rabbit the band is returning. Our goal is 365 shows in 2008.

We have copies of Coloratura available for 10 dollars. Email me.

We have copies of the James Rabbit Christmas album available.

Here is the song Lions of Love, not on the album Lions of Love.
